About K9 Junction

A small kennel with its own performance center

K9 Junction in Davis Junction describes itself as "a small kennel which offers boarding, training, and grooming services," with the stated aim of giving each dog the one-on-one attention he deserves. The about page says the business is owned and operated by Rob and Telah Garwacki, who purchased the kennel as a vacant property in January 2012 and opened their doors two months later. The site says a long-held ambition was realized in 2016 with the opening of their K9 Performance Center – a 4800 square foot space used for training classes and seminars and available to rent.

Training

The training page says K9 Junction has "two experienced trainers who both show their own dogs in AKC and USDAA agility and AKC obedience, among other sports." Regular classes cover puppy socialization, basic obedience, intermediate obedience and just-for-fun agility, with the current schedule posted on the business's Facebook page. For difficult or persistent behavioral issues, including aggression, the site offers private lessons at $75 per hour and board-and-trains that last a minimum of three weeks, with prices starting at $3,000.

Boarding and add-ons

Kennels are described as private, secure and climate-controlled, allowing no nose-to-nose contact with other dogs, and dogs are let out into one of four play yards multiple times a day at no extra charge. The site publishes its boarding rates and its extras – nature walks, indoor playtime, training sessions and text and photo updates are each individually priced per day – and lists rabies, Bordetella and DHLPP as required vaccinations. Senior dogs who have never been boarded are not accepted. The site also carries a section on Vallhunds, the breed the owners keep.
