About Proper Paws – Bonding in Confidence Consulting LLC

Training built around the connection

Proper Paws, at 31 Seymour Ave Ste B in Grayslake, describes itself as veteran owned and operated and says it focuses on "the heart of training – the connection between you and your dog", teaching owners to lead with clarity, guide with consistency and bond through trust. Its stated standard is discipline, respect and integrity.

Services

The services page lists private lessons, obedience training, socialization, drop-off day training, group lessons, service dog prep, mental enrichment, and CGC preparation for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, covering polite greetings, loose-leash walking, supervised separation and calm public behavior. Mental enrichment is described as scent work, puzzles and problem-solving. Every program, the site says, includes dog-friendly excursions, lifetime support by call, email or text, one complimentary refresher session, a personalized training plan, virtual coaching sessions, and progress tracking with notes.

The Connection Course

Its flagship program is set out under four headings: leadership and communication, covering how tone, posture and energy influence behavior; family integration training, which brings parents, children and grandparents in so everyone is consistent; confidence building, aimed at anxious or reactive dogs; and bond-based obedience. The mission statement describes empowering owners through education, empathy and evidence-based methods, and the site calls its approach balanced and science-backed. Hours are Monday to Friday 9 AM to 6 PM, Saturday by appointment, closed Sunday. Its one-page site publishes no prices; appointments are booked by phone or through a client packet.
