I have known Heidi for over 20 years. She first trained our Chocolate Lab at 9 months of age back in 2005. He was a phenomenal companion for my son and I. I never could figure out why he stopped at all those doorways assessing who was going where. Thank you Heidi! After the passing of our Prince I decided a rescue was the way to go to bypass the puppy stage.

In 2020 I adopted an 80# lab-hound mix about 4 years old. He loved us from the moment we brought him home and we knew he was smart and attentive, but very hard headed. We quickly learned that we needed him to listen and listen well, so after a few months and another trainer (who was treat based) didn't get us where we needed to be listening wise, we engaged Heidi for Huck's Bootcamp. Huck's biggest issue was running at the "come" command, likely from being abused upon coming in his past life. We just returned from the beach where in the evenings we have zoomie time and he no longer runs in the other direction for fear of being reprimanded. Heidi's persistence, knowledge and expertise were integral in the behavior of our beloved boy. She carefully observes your pets behavior to get the best results and trains the owner as well. A few years have passed and he is like a kid, he has better manners away from home than maybe at home, but all in all as an owner you must keep reinforcing the skills. Training takes much love, repeitition and time, but with The Balanced Dog you will gain the tools for a happy fur family.

My dog was having behavioral issues I could not handle, so he stayed with Heidi for board and train. Heidi worked with me on how to train him properly, helped me with my lack of consistency, and truly set us both up for success upon coming home.

Since he has been home, our quality of life is better than ever. We've been able to do things I didn't think we would ever be able to do again, and he seems so much relaxed and happy.

I am very happy with the the training my pup received. After a weeks training and I picked my Izzy up, the difference in her listening skill, and her focus is just amazing. Plus the information you take home with you to continue with the training is so helpful. I highly recommend the balance dog. If you have a dog or puppy that needs training this is the best place to go.
