Riley's Angels is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog-training organization serving the Milan, Ohio area, with a stated focus on positive training methods that help dogs and owners communicate better. Beyond pet training, the group fields certified therapy-dog teams that visit hospice, hospital, nursing-home, and veteran-care settings, and it says it has been training therapy dogs to work in hospice for over ten years.
Classes
The organization offers a progression of group classes, from puppy and manners classes that build a foundation up through more advanced levels tailored to each owner's goals and lifestyle. It certifies Canine Good Citizens for owners who want a well-behaved dog in public and runs advanced classes for those who want to volunteer as a therapy-dog team. New students begin with a free evaluation before being matched to a class. The trainer is identified as Lesley, and class sessions run in scheduled rounds through the year.

I have worked with many excellent dog trainers in the area – obedience, tricks, agility, Rally, plus basic puppy training and Canine Good Citizen. But I really love Riley’s Angels. We went to them to train my dog to do therapy work. We began with a fantastic socialization course. It taught dogs to be calm in many situations, work well with other dogs, and improve their manners. Then we took the therapy dog class. Absolutely the best in the area. Nine classes plus testing – I felt very very well prepared. The coaches are wonderful. Generous, so well versed, and POSITIVE. I recommend them to everyone.

My goal was to get my dog trained as a therapy dog. At the age of 4, my dog and I started with Riley’s Angels. We completed the AKC Canine Good Citizen Class, Focus class and we then completed Riley’s Angels Therapy Dog Certification class. Stacey and Lesley (trainers) were with us every step of the way. They made sure I understood the training expectations and gave me the direction and tools needed to meet those expectations. They have an excellent philosophy in dog training, are professional and love what they do. We are loving our time as a therapy dog team, thanks to Riley’s Angels!

I would not trust my dog anywhere else. I love that they support the relationship between the handler and the dog through companionship and not control. There are no harsh collars etc. My dog trusts me and I her. She went through multiple classes and is now therapy trained. I am proud to say we are now able to support the community and we do on a weekly basis.
