We took our dog to sit means sit a few years ago. They used a shock collar on her. They shocked her for not doing what they wanted, then they shocked her when she did do what they wanted. Called it reinforcement. They tethered her to a table and kept shocking her to get her to be quit. Shocked my dog so many times she lost control of her bowls. Read up on other posts about this franchise just to find out this is a common practice with this company. There was one person who's dog was shocked so much it killed the dog. This place should not be in business.
I'm honored to write this review. I have a "baby" 2-year old Rottweiler who tries to be good, but often becomes overly exuberant. The trainers at Sit Means Sit did a wonderful job helping me fine-tune my Loki's behavior. We're truly able to work out the bugs now. I'm feeling so liberated as I can now take him for walks (No Pulling), walk through stores (No Joke) and peacefully entertain guests in my house.
I am happy to recommend Sit Means Sit without qualification!
Not sure how their training is, but I went to the facility for an "evaluation". I drove over an hour and they didn't even evaluate my dog. They just told me what they offer for 15 minutes and thats it… it was more of a consultation, but maybe my definition of an evaluation is different? I've had other trainers come to my house for a free evaluation and they actually evaluated my dog and talked with us for a full hour. That's what I was expecting. All of the information could of been done over the phone and would of saved me the drive.
Sit Means Sit is an absolute life saver and I don’t use that phrase lightly! If you work with Michelle from Sit Means Sit then you may have heard about our dog, Cooper. He was a bit of a monster when we first came to Sit Means Sit, quite honestly bruised and a little close to tears because our dog had a nasty habit of play biting and didn’t know his own strength. We had used all the tips and tricks the internet could give us but NOTHING was working and we were very close to having to consider rehoming him since we have a 2 year old & though he never tried to bite at her, we didn’t want to risk it but… THANK GOD FOR SIT MEANS SIT! Cooper is the best dog ever now and is no where near how he use to be. Thanks to Michelle’s never ending patience and work with Cooper we finally have a dog that we can bring people around. When I use to take Cooper for walks it would terrify me because he’d bite the leash and me the whole time, people would want to pet him and I couldn’t let them because he was too mouthy and it was an awful time as a dog owner who wanted nothing more than to show of her pretty pup – but now after multiple private lessons and working with Sit Means Sit I no longer fear walking him on my own because he behaves so well, he loves everyone he meets (and he loves them enthusiastically and without teeth!) and he actually LISTENS which I can tell you & so can they, he DID NOT like to do before. Thanks to Sit Means Sit, I have the dog I’ve always wanted & Cooper will have a forever home!
Michelle and Kristin have a passion for animals, and it really shows with their training. They were motivated and dedicated to our dogs success. I would recommend them to anyone, even considering obedience training to give them a call. You will not be dissapointed.
