When we adopted our pittie, we knew we had our hands full. Pearl is full of energy, charisma, love, and kisses. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body—but she loved to jump and climb people all day long. She was decent on a leash, but very easily distracted. We also have a 6-lb Chihuahua that she would chase in an insatiable way!

We saw so much potential in Pearl, but we had no real training skills. And since her tiny Chihuahua sister gets away with things she shouldn’t, it was clear we didn’t really know what we were doing when it came to training. We also have grandchildren that Pearl can’t just willy-nilly jump on, and my mother has osteoporosis and has already had a knee and hip replaced. We simply couldn’t have an unruly dog at her adult size.

I scoured the internet and found Nick’s Dog Training. After watching dozens and dozens of his videos, I knew I had found our guy.
Once we met Nick and Katie, I knew we had found our team. Their energy and vibe are unmatched, and Pearl immediately took to both of them.

They explained our options, and for our family dynamic we chose the Training Camp.

When Nick came to pick her up, I cried like my kids were heading off to kindergarten. I feared she’d think we abandoned her or didn’t love her. I was afraid she’d come back different—no longer her bubbly self. But Nick reassured me she’d still be herself… “but a lady!”

During the two weeks she was gone, Nick and Katie kept up amazing communication. I received daily pupdates and videos of her progress the entire time. I was so proud of our Pearly. The progress showed quickly! They even extended her care a bit longer because they wanted her to leave confident and sure (at no additional charge).

She came back every bit trained, still her well-rounded self, and now an exceptionally well-behaved lady. She doesn’t jump on guests, and she’s learned that her “place” isn’t a punishment—it’s a calm, safe space.
She respects her Chihuahua sister now also! Walking her is now a breeze. Loose leash, heeling beside us, and so easy that our 14-year-old son takes every opportunity to walk her. Her ability to be off leash in our yard to run freely, but come on command has been such a blessing!

Nick’s Dog Training is amazing. I would recommend them to anyone with any type or size dog. Pearl was a handful before she left, and now she’s making her place in our family as a well-behaved young lady.

We reached out to Nick when our Golden Retriever, Molly, was 4 months old. She is much more headstrong that our previous two goldens. She is also very strong and was nearly impossible to control on a leash. We were about to go on vacation and Nick suggested that we do a board and train package with Katie.
They had Molly for about a week and after the first day of training Nick sent us a video of Molly walking and healing perfectly on a leash. They regularly sent us videos showing Molly’s progress, which totally amazed us! When Nick returned her to us the difference was totally amazing. Molly had transformed into a well-behaved dog that was a pleasure to walk and did not jump up on us anymore.
Nick also worked with my husband and I explaining what we needed to do to continue training Molly and he has also done follow-up visits and training with us.
We are now able to take Molly on her walks off leash, as well as into stores with us and get compliments on how well behaved she is around other people and dogs. Molly is now 15 months old and still needs the occasional reminder, however, overall is a great and well-behaved dog.
I would strongly recommend Nick’s Dog Training. They are a pleasure to work with, have assured us that he will always be there for us, if needed, and are truly experts at training dogs!

Nick’s Dog Training Service exceeded every expectation I had—and then some.

When I first started, I simply wanted DiDo to learn how to go back into his crate without whining constantly. What I gained was a well-behaved, confident, and responsive dog who is still learning and growing every day.

Thanks to Nick, DiDo no longer pulls on the leash during walks and now confidently follows commands like *come, sit,* and *down*. One of the biggest transformations? I can open my door without worrying about him running out—I don’t have to rush or panic anymore.

The off-leash training experience honestly brought me to tears. Seeing that level of trust, discipline, and connection between us was something I didn’t even realize was possible.

As a first-time dog mom, I had a lot of anxiety about doing things “right” and not hurting DiDo in the process. Nick was incredibly patient, attentive, and understanding of my concerns. He didn’t just train DiDo—he trained *us* to work together as a team.

DiDo has always been my cuddly, loving support, and now, thanks to Nick’s guidance, he’s all of that *with manners*.

If you’re looking for someone who truly understands dogs and can help you understand *how* to work with your dog, Nick is absolutely amazing. And the support doesn’t stop after training—he’s always available for questions and continued guidance.

Highly, highly recommend!

I got in contact with Nick because I had a young German shepherd, Bear, who was resource guarding. I had worked really hard since I got Bear, at 10 weeks, to train him myself and try to prevent things like resource guarding but clearly I failed 😅. It took only a couple of sessions with Nick and Katie to teach me the correct way to handle and fix Bears resource guarding. For that alone I could not recommend them enough. It was a lot of practice on my end in between those sessions but it honestly did not take that long to fix. And they were always a message away to answer any questions, of which I had many 🤣. Their help and expertise was so invaluable to me.

I did a lot of research prior to getting a German shepherd because I knew that they are a high energy/need dog breed but even so there was so much that they taught me in our sessions it was just beyond helpful.

While Nick and Katie’s schedules are packed they are still super accommodating about rescheduling. I had a couple of big life events come up and they were very willing to work with me on session dates. They were also super chill about me always having to have my 4 year old around when training which has been awesome because now he takes what they taught us and helps me train Bear at home.

Highly recommend especially if you have a power breed and you want to nip dangerous behaviors in the bud.

We hired Nick to work with my aunts dog, prior to her moving into a nursing home. He was about 5, she had gotten him during Covid, and was very unsociable. Her dog could come with her, but he wouldn’t let anyone pet him at all and would bite anyone but her. I honestly felt there was no hope and the dog would need to be put to sleep. ( and I love dogs, so don’t say that lightly!) we took a gamble and hired Nick to work with him. Not only did he make it to the nursing home, but when she was no longer able to care for him he was able to be adopted and now has a second family. It was very unique situation and we appreciated the help.
