About Fins Animal Training

What they do

Fins Animal Training sells three named programs rather than an open menu. Polite Pooch is aimed at house manners for the dog that "jump[s] on people or run[s] around the house like a maniac… only listening when they feel like it." Dream Dog targets walking on a loose leash, waiting at doors, and coming when called instead of chasing. Loyal For Life is described as being "perfect for families who want to enjoy their dog wherever life takes them… and have the peace of mind that you'll have help anytime anything comes up in the future." The site also states it works with puppies and with therapy and service dogs.

How they work

The published process is a quick conversation first, then a visit to the client's house to meet the household and lay out the program options. The questions the site asks up front set the tone: "What is your dog doing that you wish they weren't doing? What are they not doing that you wish they were? How is that impacting your everyday life?" Specific outcomes named are stopping unwanted barking, ending jumping, and walking nicely on a leash.

Who trains

The trainer introduces herself as Lauren, "a Savannah, GA native," who opened Fins Animal Training in 2017 and says she began training dogs in 2011. She writes that teaching people matters to her as much as teaching dogs.

Where they work

The about section gives the base as Savannah, GA, "serving families in the Low Country."
