About Kansas City K9 Academy – Dog Training & Boarding

About Kansas City K9 Academy

Kansas City K9 Academy is a training business serving, in its own header, "Lee's Summit, MO And Surrounding Areas". The about page explains the focus in one line: "Why focus on obedience training? Obedience is one of the most important factors when it comes to correcting bad behaviors and preventing future problems." The same page frames the work around keeping dogs in their homes, citing behavior problems as a common reason dogs are surrendered to shelters, and says the academy is "dedicated to empowering dog owners, providing them with the tools and knowledge to cultivate harmonious relationships with their canine companions".

The graded programs

Board and train is described on the home page as "Our #1 Training Program", and it comes in three named tiers. The Bronze Paw Program is the one-week, Monday-to-Friday option, focused on "a solid foundation of high level basic obedience (Come, Sit, Stay, Place, Off, Loose Leash Walking)" and on nuisance behaviors the page lists as jumping, digging, chewing, licking, barking, biting, counter surfing and leash pulling. The Silver Paw Program is a ten-day course described as "by far our most popular training option", with the dog home at weekends and a follow-up week to proof the training. The Gold Paw Program is presented as the ultimate option, taking the dog from foundation obedience into distraction work.

Other services

Private training is one-to-one at the training facility, and the page is blunt about who it suits: it is "most beneficial to those who are 100% committed to working with their dog daily". Group classes are listed in the navigation. Boarding is offered only to current or former training clients, with the page promising that a boarded dog gets "a refresher on all their obedience skills".
