About Mandy K9 LLC

What they do

Mandy K9's own services page states that the business specializes in obedience training, behavior modification and rehabilitation. Every dog starts with an initial consultation, taken at one of its two locations, Ellisville or Manchester; an in-home consultation can be arranged by email instead.

Class and session structure

Private sessions run 45 minutes to an hour and are described as the option for dogs that need to learn without distractions, with training for the owner built in. There is a two-part Canine Good Citizen course with the CGC test, a puppy class with AKC Puppy S.T.A.R., and review group classes for dogs that have finished a level-one group or a private package, used to practice general obedience with distractions.

The approach

The site's own position is that dog training has changed, that positive and reward-based techniques are supported by science, and that the training style considers each dog's psychological needs and natural way of learning.

Credentials

Three trainers work under this business, each listed in a public credential register: its owner holds CPDT-KA and CBCC-KA and is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, a second Ellisville trainer holds CPDT-KA and is also a CGC evaluator, and a third evaluator is listed at the Manchester site.
