About Companionshep Doggy Day Care, Grooming & Training

Companionshep LLC is a small facility in Great Valley, Cattaraugus County, about ten minutes from the village of Ellicottville. It describes itself as a "Dog Daycare, Luxury Grooming & Certified Behavioral Dog Training facility," and its opening hours separate the three: daycare runs Tuesday to Friday, 7:30am to 5pm, while grooming and training are by appointment on Saturdays and Sundays. It is closed Mondays.

The training side

Training is the smallest and least documented part of the site. The business calls it certified behavioral dog training, so ask which body certified it, what classes run and what they cost. What exists beyond that headline is client accounts: one describes meeting the owner after interviewing trainers who wanted the dog dominated into submission and preferring an approach built on enforcement that keeps the relationship intact; another mentions real-life scenarios presented in class and finally being able to walk a mastiff without being pulled down the road; a third describes a dog-reactive dog eased into the daycare group with a plan made for her. Those are customers talking, not a service menu.

Daycare and grooming

The daycare is the visible half of the business and the part most of the published feedback is about – small groups, photo updates through the day, and an owner who is a veterinary technician, which several clients single out as the reason they feel comfortable leaving a dog there. Grooming runs alongside it by appointment.

Where it is and what to ask

Its Killbuck Road address carries a Salamanca mailing town; the business's own site says Great Valley. Because the training service is announced rather than described, the sensible first question is a specific one – what a session looks like, what it costs, and whether the problem you have is one they take. The business answers by phone, text and email.
