Obedience and hunting dog training near Springhill

Circle J Kennels is a training and boarding kennel on acres of rolling pasture and woods at 390 Johnny Mouser Road in Shongaloo, near Springhill. It credits Jerry Moore with training dogs to be great hunters and obedient companions for more than half his life. Staff are on site and dogs are monitored around the clock, and the kennel limits numbers to allow one-on-one time.

Programs and prices

Basic obedience is a month-long program for $600 covering heel, sit on command and on stopping, down and stay, the "here" recall, "quiet", "no", no jumping, kenneling in a vehicle or crate, and socialization with dogs, people and kids. Circle J describes an "alpha and omega" system that communicates with dogs through body language and guarantees the training for the dog's life. Basic Duck Dog is a 3 to 4 month program at $600 per month covering land and water retrieves, gunfire, obedience with whistle commands and force fetch. Advanced Duck Dog is a 3 month hand signal program at $600 per month that teaches blind retrieves and coaches the owner. A six-week deer blood tracking course with basic obedience costs $900. Boarding is also offered.
