About Lucky Dog Training
Positive reinforcement in Fort Dodge
Lucky Dog Training operates alongside Webster County Animal Protection at 2502 170th Street in Fort Dodge, Iowa. It was created by Kaila Benson with the goal of strengthening the relationship between owners and their dogs through positive reinforcement training and understanding dog behavior. Kaila started both Lucky Dog and the county animal protection service after a difficult experience with a beagle, and got certified to train dogs.
Classes
Owners can choose between General Obedience and an AKC Canine Good Citizen class. General Obedience is for dogs new to classes and teaches owners to communicate using a "marker word" along with basic commands such as sit, down, stay and leave it. The Canine Good Citizen class adds much more impulse control work for dogs that already understand a marker word and can earn an AKC title.
Train Rover
Train Rover is an extension of Lucky Dog Training taught by Mary Ann Roux, described as a trainer with 20+ years of experience with dogs. It specializes in AKC STAR Puppy and CGC Adult classes.
