Hunting dog training in Foreston

Granite Ledge Kennels is a professional hunting dog training facility and Pudelpointer breeder in Foreston, just west of Milaca, on 180 acres of ponds, native grass and timber. Owner and head trainer Chris Wilson has trained gun dogs full time for twenty years and has qualified numerous dogs for NAVHDA Utility and AKC Master Hunter titles.

Philosophy

Chris aims to give owners a dog that is a pleasure in the field and in the home, balancing obedience with the natural drive that makes a hunting dog. The kennel works one dog at a time with its own plan and pace, and each owner gets individual instruction on the techniques used before the dog goes home. Boarding is included with every training program.

Programs

Programs cover retriever training, upland bird dog training, versatile dog training, obedience, puppy training with early birds, gunfire and water, and shed dog training. A featured blood trail tracking program trains dogs to recover wounded deer by scent in four stages, from scent introduction to live recovery work. Puppy foundations often run 4 to 6 weeks.
