About Puppy Steps Training
Board and train for puppies in Lewiston
Puppy Steps Training in Lewiston calls itself Northern Utah's premier board and train puppy facility since 2011. Puppies live with the trainers, who assess each dog's needs and personality and design an approach that suits the dog and the family's lifestyle. The stated goal is a smooth, peaceful transition to the puppy's home with long-lasting results, and the program takes between 6-8 weeks so each puppy can learn at its own pace, free of undue pressure.
Programs and facility
Alongside the core Puppy Steps Training Program, Puppy Steps offers boot camps and service dog prep. The facility, completed in 2021, sits on a 2-acre country property bordered by a river bottom, with heated, climate-controlled kennels and fenced grass play areas. Puppies receive regular baths, grooming and necessary healthcare while in the program.
The team
Owner Brad Phillips says he has been training dogs since 2008, starting with his own hunting dog, and graduated from Utah State University. Head trainer Skylar joined as an intern and says she is certified through two different programs, and trainer Matilee joined in 2019. The leadership team cites over two decades of training experience and hundreds of dogs trained.
