Retriever training in the Mission Valley

Mudd Creek Retrievers (MCR) is a retriever training kennel in Ronan, in Montana's Mission Valley, established in 2021 and owned and operated by Marcus and Vicky (Martinez) Bellow. Its specialty is high-end gun dogs capable of performing in any hunting situation and in AKC and HRC hunt test scenarios, and its program offers individual training to bring out the natural abilities of each dog. The kennel works with Labrador, Golden and Chesapeake retrievers, is a PRTA member and describes over 10 years of experience serving customers from all over the country.

The trainer

Marcus Bellow developed his interest in training retrievers while in the Marines, wanting to train his own hunting dog, and has had success at every level from field trials to AKC/HRC hunt tests. He spent five years as an Assistant Professional trainer at Mission Mountain Retrievers in Ronan under Professional Retriever Trainer Eric Fangsrud before opening his own kennel. He likes to work closely with clients, since teaching the owner to handle the dog is directly tied to the dog's success in the field or the duck blind.
