About Good Citizen K9

Programs

Good Citizen K9 teaches one-on-one training in weekly private sessions with the owner and dog, which its services page recommends for puppies, basic obedience, leash manners and behavior coaching. It also runs board-and-train stays of two, three or four weeks. On the two-week stay a dog lives at the facility and, per the home page, is trained and exercised a minimum three times per day; the three-week stay is described as the flagship program and prepares dogs for the AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluation; the four-week stay is aimed at behavior modification, reactivity and confidence building.

Approach

The site calls the business family-owned and says its programs rest on positive reinforcement and carefully guided exposure to new people, environments and real-world situations. It credits its trainers with experience in police K9, search and rescue, detection and protection training.
