Small-breed care and training on Key Biscayne

Your Good Dog is a boutique small-breed doggie daycare, boarding and training facility at 660 Crandon Blvd #170 in Key Biscayne. It calls itself Miami's only small-breed facility, where like-size dogs play together comfortably and safely, and it works on maintaining and conditioning obedience while dogs play in daycare. The environment is cage-free and positive.

The trainer

Alexa Holloway, M.S., founded Your Good Dog after five years as a marine mammal trainer at Miami Seaquarium, where she worked with sea lions, seals, dolphins and a killer whale using operant conditioning. She describes herself as a life-long Key Biscayne resident and certified professional dog trainer, with expertise in positive reinforcement training. Her listed credentials include a BA in biology, an MS in marine mammalogy and oceanography, APDT professional membership, IAABC certified membership (CDBC pending), and certification as a CGC and AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Evaluator. Her approach helps owners understand why their dogs behave as they do and fix the cause rather than only the symptoms.

Services

Services include daycare, boarding, training and trick training, with help for barking, chewing, house soiling and separation anxiety. Hours are Monday to Sunday, 9:00 am to 6:30 pm, by appointment only.
