About Hunter Canine Dog Training

Balanced training in Wilmington

Hunter Canine Dog Training is a Wilmington dog training company that describes itself as a reward-based, balanced trainer. Founded in 2019 as Hunter Canine, LLC, it builds personalized programs around owner communication, appropriate socialization and science-based behavioral theory, and it works with dogs of any age, breed or temperament.

Programs

Puppy training covers socialization, crate training, housebreaking and basic obedience. Obedience training teaches sit, stay, heel and recall. Aggression training addresses reactivity, territorial behavior and fear-based aggression. Private one-on-one sessions target specific behavior problems, and a board and train program keeps the dog with the trainers for intensive obedience and behavior modification. Day training sends the dog home each night, virtual training uses video assessments and real-time feedback, and group classes work on obedience, socialization and impulse control around other dogs. The team also helps families choose a breed or puppy through its dog and puppy selection and placement service.

Training the owner too

Hunter Canine stresses real-life practice in everyday settings, owner involvement and ongoing support, with personal coaching so owners can keep up the work long after sessions end.
