About Yuppie Dog

Yuppie Dog in Houston

Yuppie Dog is a daycare, overnight stay, spa and training center at 2203 Durham Dr. in Houston, near I-10 and downtown in the Heights. The owners created it in 2009 after their own search for a trustworthy place to leave their dogs; it grew out of an organic dog bakery they ran at local farmers markets.

Training

Yuppie Dog describes positive and ethical training as the basis of a strong bond, and offers a range of training options. Its Canine Behavioral Specialist, Mary Kegarise, is credited with over 30 years of experience focused on ethical, positive training, and she trains all staff in dog behavior and handling. All staff are certified in pet CPR.

The facility

Dogs play in turfed outdoor areas with an inground recessed-entry pool and in large indoor play spaces, and overnight guests stay in cage-free climate-controlled lofts. Owners are Melanie Roldan, Cynthia Roldan and Bernice Ruiz. Weekday hours are 6:30am to 1pm and 2pm to 7pm.
