About The Dog Standard
Training, daycare and boarding on Shiloh Church Rd
The Dog Standard is a Houston dog training, daycare and boarding business at 12826 Shiloh Church Rd, with a second location in the Conroe area. Its philosophy is "Reliable, Consistent, Fair, Balanced": calm comes before commands, so training starts with safety and calm, then focus, then cues such as sit, down, place, heel and recall. Owners are coached so the training carries over at home.
Board and train
Board and train programs range from a one-week introduction to leash walking ($700) and two weeks of leash and crate training ($1,300) to puppy foundations (two weeks $1,500, four weeks $2,600), a six-week advanced puppy program ($3,800), four weeks of obedience and house manners ($3,100), six weeks of public access work ($4,500) and six weeks of behavior modification for fear, anxiety, reactivity and aggression ($5,500 and up). Potty training packages run $1,200 for puppies and $5,500 for adult dogs.
Lessons and daycare
Private lessons are $230 and group lessons $120, by appointment. Day Train pairs daycare with training sessions for $45. Veterans get 15% off and first responders, teachers and law enforcement 10%.
