About Longoriahaus Dog Training
Coaching families in Humble
Longoriahaus Dog Training helps families in Humble, Kingwood and Houston raise well-mannered dogs. Its owner and head trainer, who goes by Al the Dog Trainer, says he has trained dogs, including his own German Shepherds, for over 20 years, and has coached clients and their dogs in the Houston area for the past 14 years and 10 months.
How it works
Every program starts with a training evaluation, where a trainer hears the owner's goals and looks for the root causes of problems such as leash pulling, ignoring recall or separation anxiety. The family then signs up for a customized course. Al describes his core job as coaching people: teaching the technical side of training and building accountability so owners keep practicing. He calls his approach rewards-based, while also teaching a dog to respect boundaries, which he says sometimes means correction.
Programs
The menu includes board and train, general dog training, puppy training, off-leash training and refresher training for previous clients. The four skills Al wants every dog to learn are staying where told, walking nicely on a leash, coming when called and playing well.
Where it trains
Service areas named include Humble, Kingwood, Atascocita, Porter, Fall Creek, Summerwood, Huffman, Crosby and East Houston.
