About Tame Dog Training & Boarding
Private training club in McKinney
Tame Dog Training & Boarding is a board-and-train and boarding business at 4414 County Rd 411 in McKinney, describing itself as a private dog training club. It was founded in 2015 by Matt Ganim, who began it as a solo operation and has grown it into a team. The company credits itself with over a decade of work across the full range of dogs, from easy companions to dogs with aggression or anxiety, and is open 8 AM to 11 PM, 365 days a year.
Method and tools
The approach is a balanced one that combines rewards and corrections, built around structure, respect and clear boundaries. Named tools include a Herm Sprenger prong collar, an Educator Technologies mini e-collar for off-leash communication, beef lung treats for positive reinforcement, an elevated cot for place training and a rolled towel to interrupt unwanted behavior.
Programs
Member-only Puppy Boarding (Pre-Training) for puppies 10 weeks to 6 months covers house manners, socialization, beginning obedience, leash skills and vet preparation. Board and train options run 10 days (Basic, on-leash obedience), 17 days (Gold Standard, on- and off-leash response plus mild to moderate anxiety or aggression) and 31 days (Premier, with public-space work in places such as Downtown McKinney). There are also a Legacy residency, a service dog program for documented medical needs, private one-on-one sessions, virtual sessions, and private boarding for club families at $65, $75 or $150 per night depending on tier.
