About Time For Your Dog
Time For Your Dog in Austin
Time For Your Dog is an Austin dog training business led by trainer Luis Herrera. Luis began training dogs in Mexico in 2000, learning and practicing Schutzhund at a police academy, and later offered free and low-cost group classes in Cancun while rehabilitating dogs for rescue groups. He arrived in Austin in 2010, worked as an adoption counselor with Austin Pets Alive and at Austin Animal Center, and trained with Training by Tara and then the Canine Center for Training and Behavior until 2021. He set out to make training available to communities of all backgrounds, including Austin's Hispanic community. He works with all breeds and ages, teaches basic to advanced obedience and specializes in behavior modification for fear and aggression. His canine co-trainers, Miura and Mezcal, both rescues, help with calm and reactive dogs.
Services
New clients start with a 45-60 minute initial evaluation to build a program around the owner's goals. Private lessons of 45 to 60 minutes review the dog's skills and the owner's handling and communication. Dog boarding and training continues an agreed training program during the stay, and daycare is also offered.
