River's Edge Dog Academy is a service dog and obedience training academy at 5021 Iris Ln in College Station. Owners and trainers Terry and Nancy Cadle say they founded River's Edge in 1986 after seeing a need for quality service dogs, and have been professionally training working dogs for over 3 decades. The academy is a member of the Diabetic Alert Dog Alliance.

Specialties

River's Edge specializes in diabetic alert dogs for type 1 diabetics and hypoglycemic unawareness, plus dogs for GSD, PTSD, epilepsy, mobility assistance, hearing impairment and emotional support. The Cadles put a lot of work into matching each dog with its person. They also do behavior modification and obedience training, and say they have trained hundreds of trainers to shape their own dogs. Their stated goal is to produce partners for people who need them most at a fair price.

Obedience centers on the dog understanding that the owner is in charge, building a working attitude and a lifelong bond of dedication and loyalty.
