About Cozy Casita de Pets
Home-based care for small dogs
Cozy Casita de Pets is a home-based boarding, daycare and training business for small dogs in NW San Antonio, near the Culebra/Tezel area. Owner Katie runs it from her own home, offers pickup and drop-off for owners farther away, and starts new dogs with a complimentary two-hour trial stay.
The owner
Katie is a former elementary school teacher whose interest in behavior led her to a master's degree in Animal Behavior, in progress at Unity Environmental University. Her credentials include Canine CPR & First Aid, membership in the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), rescue volunteering and professional pet care experience since 2021.
Board and train
Dogs stay with her for daily structured sessions plus field trips to dog-friendly stores and parks. The 5-day Starter Program ($400) covers sit, stay, leash walking, crate training and impulse control; the 10-day Essential Obedience ($800) adds down, recall and polite greetings; and the 3-week Transformational Training ($1,600) adds off-leash reliability and custom behavior work such as jumping, barking and reactivity, with lifetime virtual support. Each program includes go-home sessions with the owner.
