The trainer

Marlene Ring, CPDT-KA, is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and a Professional Premium Member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She is a graduate of Pat Miller's Peaceable Paws Intern Academy, Level I and II, an approved apprentice trainer for Animal Behavior College and an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. She has competed in agility, obedience and conformation, taught flyball and 4-H Dog Project classes, had two therapy dogs, and completed the Red Cross Pet First Aid Class.

Method

Marlene teaches with positive reinforcement, rewarding wanted behaviors and redirecting unwanted ones instead of relying on punishment or force. She often uses a clicker so the dog quickly learns which behavior earned the reward.
