About Mt Diablo Dog Training Club

What they offer

Mt. Diablo Dog Training Club is a non-profit club dedicated to dog training, with its own building on Las Juntas Street in Martinez. It offers classes at all levels, from Puppy Head Start to advanced competition obedience for handlers pursuing AKC or All American obedience titles, plus conformation, Rally and nose work.

How classes work

All breeds and ages are welcome, mixed or purebred, puppy through senior. The club's approach is to teach, practice and correct in a gentle, respectful way, built on consistency, communication and compassion, and it uses reward-based training methods. Competition classes prepare handlers and dogs for the show ring if they choose to enter.

Events and testing

The club holds Canine Good Citizen tests through the year, an annual AKC licensed obedience trial, an agility trial, run-throughs and seminars. Ask about the current class schedule and registration dates.
