Positive training and grooming in Lakeland

Bo's Pawsitive K9 Services is a Lakeland training and grooming business run by trainer Vicky Kontomichalos and her wife Kara Weidaw-Kontomichalos, a groomer with over 10 years in the industry. Vicky has over 10 years of experience in dog training and 14 years in the dog industry. She holds the CPDT-KA, is a CGC Evaluator and a member of the APDT, and lists ADA service dog and ESA training.

Method

Vicky is a positive reinforcement trainer and builds training on honesty, empathy, understanding and compassion. She rules out shock collars, choke chains, prong collars and other aversive methods.

Packages

Every dog starts with an assessment, and packages are customizable. Puppy Training (from $700, 7 weeks to 6 months) covers potty and crate training, desensitization, leash walking and nipping. Basic Training (from $850) builds sit, stay, settle, down, recall, drop it and leave it on duration, distance and distraction. Behavioral Training (from $900) addresses reactivity, confidence and destructive behavior. A Canine Good Citizen course ($900) includes the AKC test, and a grooming desensitization program helps nervous dogs accept baths, dryers and nail trims.
