Veterinary behavior consulting

Creature Counseling is a veterinary animal behavior consulting service in Lake Mills, established in October 2000 and led by a veterinarian. It works with the guardians of dogs and cats who have behavioral problems or want to prevent them. The main coverage area is south central Wisconsin, and telephone and video conferencing are available for people outside that area.

Consultations

Consultations for behavioral problems set up teamwork between the veterinarian, the guardian and the pet, with the goal of resolving the problem and strengthening the bond. Because it is run by a veterinarian, the site notes that medical issues that may cause or contribute to behavior problems are considered in cooperation with your family vet, and medication can be prescribed as an adjunct when appropriate.

Prevention

Prevention services include puppy socialization classes, kitten classes, professional education and behavioral handouts. Behavioral products are also sold to support treatment.

Hours

Appointments are available during the day Monday through Friday, with some evening appointments.
