About the trainer

Canine Bliss, LLC is a dog training business in Fremont, Ohio, owned and instructed by Kris Bliss. Kris writes that she has worked with dogs and owners professionally for more than 30 years, including seven years training police dogs, and describes dog training as a lifelong dream pursued since kindergarten. The emphasis throughout is on helping owners feel more confident and connected with their dogs, and vice versa. A small support team (including front-office and class assistants Mindy and Barb) helps run the operation.

Classes

All classes are held at a climate-controlled indoor training facility for the safety and comfort of dogs and handlers. Puppy Preschool serves puppies under 16 weeks and covers housebreaking, crate training, preventing nipping and jumping, socialization, and an introduction to basic commands. Basic Manners (for dogs over four months) teaches sit, down, stay, loose-leash walking, no jumping, and recall, with individual attention plus group practice and discussion of canine behavior, nutrition, and leadership. A Canine Good Citizen class prepares dogs for the AKC's 10-step CGC and CGCA tests; Kris is a Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. Private lessons are available for dogs not suited to a group setting.

The business also sells dog food, treats, and training equipment on-site, and maintains a testimonials page from past students.
