The owners

**Melaney** — Owner/Operator with DTC USA since 2017. "After serving in the U.S. Army from 2012-2017 as

a Military Police dog handler, Melaney learned how valuable a dog could be as a steadfast companion

and wanted to help families experience the joy and companionship that dogs have to offer." Her

background covers "training and working dogs in explosives and narcotics detection, aggression

techniques used by law enforcement and offering support to other handlers deploying with their working

dogs."

**Cory** — Owner/Operator with DTC USA since 2019. She "spent most of her career as a special education

teacher, where she incorporated therapy dogs into her classrooms," specializing in behavior

modification and communication. The two met in 2018 through Cory's dog Harvey.

**Caitlin** — Trainer with DTC USA since 2022. She began serving in the US Navy in 2013 as a Hull

Technician and is now in the reserves, and is active in rescue work. She came to the business as a

client with two dogs trained there.

Method

Leadership-based training, with the tools ruled out in writing: "No Shock Collars. No Clickers. No

Treats."

> habit and thrive on routine. If your dog knows what's expected, they will have less decisions to

Dogs "are rewarded for their calmness with love, affection, and fun activities they enjoy."

Programs

**Training Camps** — 2 to 4 weeks of board and train at the facility, "a full Immersion experience,"

with private and group training at the end of camp to transfer skills to the owner.

**Private Training** — published packages:

– Private Puppy Session — $499. Dogs 10-20 weeks. One in-home session, one leash manners group class,

a personalized instructional video with trainer notes and a written plan. Covers puppy management,

daily routine, potty and crate training, play manners and leash introduction.

– Private Training Session — $699. Dogs 5 months and up. One in-home session, two leash manners group

classes, instructional video, written plan, and a DTC convertible leash with an instructional

session. Addresses potty and crate training, door manners, barking, counter surfing, leash manners

and dog/dog or dog/kid interactions.

– Private Leadership Package — $999. Two in-home sessions, four leash manners group classes, plus the

video, plan and leash. Focused on basic obedience, home and public manners, and daily routine.

– In-home Behavioral Assessment — $250. For owners "Dealing with severe or dangerous behavioral

issues," "Debating re-homing your dog" or "Considering Euthanasia": "We will help you assess your

dog's behavior in its home environment to determine if a training service will help, and provide you

with honest advice so you can make the best decision possible."

**Group Classes** — small class sizes, designed for real-life practice.

**Specialty Training** — emotional support animal training, therapy dog training and service dog

training.
