About Off Leash K9 Training West Virginia

What they offer

This is the West Virginia location of Off Leash K9 Training, which its own page describes as "part of the highest-rated dog training business in the United States", with over 130 locations nationwide. The programs advertised are off-leash obedience, a two-week board and train, private lessons, and dog behavior consultations.

Approach

The stated goal is off-leash obedience that holds up under distraction. The page says the company will "guarantee an obedient, off-leash, and distraction-proof pup at the end of our program" and claims that 98% of all dogs can achieve this level of obedience regardless of breed, size, shape or age. Owner coaching is part of the pitch – the page describes teaching dog owners to understand why their dogs do the things they do.

Inside the board and train

The board-and-train section is unusually specific about care protocols. Dogs stay with the trainer; the owner and anyone they nominate are added to a Google Photos album updated daily with photos and with videos every two to three days. The page states that any time a dog leaves the trainer's home it is outfitted with a GPS Whistle unit, and that every stay comes with a full before-and-after video.

Service area

The site names the towns it covers, among them South Charleston, Charleston, Sissonville, Elkview, Ripley, Teays Valley, Huntington, Beckley, Fayetteville and Milton.

Before you book

This is a franchise location and a good deal of the page is national brand copy rather than local description. The nationwide claims are the brand's own; ask who the local trainer is, where training takes place and what the programs cost.
