About Wolf’s Lair K9

Balanced training across the North Shore

Wolf's Lair K9 describes itself as a professional dog training business serving Northbrook, Glencoe, Winnetka, Kenilworth, Wilmette and neighborhoods, and its page title also lists Highland Park, Evanston, Glenview, Skokie, Northfield and Highwood, Illinois. The home page says the business is "owned and operated by a Marine Corps veteran and his wife."

Approach

The site states the focus is on building a closer bond between owner and dog, and describes the method as "balanced and professional dog training ranging from basic to advanced obedience", intended to provide owners with the tools to achieve a mentally and physically stable canine. It adds that not every dog learns in the same way, so training is built around how the individual puppy or dog learns best, and links communicating incorrectly to undesirable behavior such as chewing, barking, jumping and separation anxiety.

Programs listed

The services menu lists Boot Camp, described on the home page as the program for a dog that is out of control and in need of obedience training; Private Training, described as private lessons in the comfort of your own home for owners short on time; and Specialized Training. A Day Training option is presented on the home page as an excellent solution for busy individuals. The menu also carries a Dogs For Sale section, plus Credentials, Memberships, Testimonials, Events, Photos and Videos, and a Boot Camp FAQ and training tips under Resources.

Media and testimonials

An In The News section on the home page references the Cantigny Dog Days Exposition and says the Wolf's Lair K9 team appeared on Good Day Chicago at Fox News to discuss five quick fixes for Fido that owners can implement at home. Client testimonials on the same page credit the training with making a dog more obedient and more responsive to its owner's needs.
