<h2>Manners first, then obedience</h2>

<p>Imprinted Paws is an Oswego-area trainer whose stated goal is "a hands on training experience that is based off of everyday situations." The site puts the order of work plainly: "we work on manners first and creating a solid foundation," and "we believe obedience is the polish to an already obedient dog." It says it works with "all temperaments, breeds and ages" and spends time with owners choosing the right program.</p>

<h3>Board and Train</h3>

<p>Board and train is offered in tiers. The site describes short programs of about two weeks "for dogs who mainly need to work on proper leash walking, more public control, and fine tuning house manners"; a three-week program it calls its most popular, covering outdoor work and in-home house manners for dogs that struggle with impulse control; and four- to six-week programs "based off behaviors such as extremely high anxiety, dog and human aggression."</p>

<h3>Private and in-home training</h3>

<p>Private training runs one day a week for four to eight weeks against a written program sheet, and the site asks owners to practice daily between sessions. In-home training is aimed specifically at "dogs who have serious territory behaviors," and the site is candid that in-home is not always the right pick &ndash; for jumping at the door, leash pulling, excessive barking and impulse control it recommends training where distractions are available.
