About Shickle K9

What the site says

Shickle K9 trains in Bloomington and is introduced on its about page in the first person: "My name is Andrew Shickle, owner of Shickle K9." The home page states that the business works "in your home or at our board and train facility," and that an evaluation is the entry point – every call to action on the home page is "Schedule an Evaluation."

How programs are sold

The home page is explicit that pricing is not per-session: "Our programs are based on goals and results. We do not charge by the lesson and our goal is to build communication and understanding between you and your dog." It adds that "each family and dog has different goals, learning techniques, motivations, and expectations," which is why the site routes everyone through an evaluation rather than listing packages. Ask about prices at the evaluation.

Method

The about page argues against dominance framing directly, stating that obedience "is a game to the dog" and that the goal is "a true and clear understanding between you and your dog." The everyday problems it names are leash pulling and jumping on house guests.

The team

Beyond the owner, the about page carries biographies for two more trainers. One is listed as operations manager, trainer, nutritionist and AKC CGC Evaluator, and is credited with work in detection, agility, obedience, tracking and protection, plus rehabilitation work with rescue Dobermans, Malinois and Dutch Shepherds. The other is credited with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from Purdue University with a concentration in animal behavior and well-being, and with temperament-testing dogs at a humane society before adoption.

One caveat for anyone calling: the site's footer still reads "Copyright 2019," so program details and availability are worth confirming by phone.
