Vom Seymour Kennel is a hunting dog operation in Loyal, combining breeding with field training. The pitch on the home page is specific about the dog it serves: "Train a versatile, steady hunting dog, without the guesswork. Proven Deutsch-Drahthaar methods from trainer/breeder Joe Aumann—with step-by-step videos, 1:1 coaching, and in-person training options in Wisconsin." This is not a pet-manners business — the problems it names are "steadiness, retrieves, or control", a dog that "breaks early, loses focus in the field, or brings back 'most' of the bird."

Who runs it

The About page is signed by the owner: "My name is Joe Aumann. I've had dogs all of my life but got into bird dog training in 1990." He describes buying his first Deutsch-Drahthaar in 2003, says "We now train and/or hunt dogs year around in Central Wisconsin", and adds "I'm also a field judge in the VDD which helps me evaluate young dogs and train them in the right ways." On method he credits a school rather than claiming his own: "I have been through all of the Rick and Ronny Smith trainings, and promote their method of dog training." The home page describes the wider philosophy as "cultivating well-mannered, obedient, and sociable dogs through positive reinforcement techniques."

The training, and published prices

The training page states "Joe Aumann, Owner & Trainer at Vom Seymour Kennel, has been training gun dogs since 1990. During that time Joe has trained and tested many dogs from VJP through VGP with great success." The kennel says it has "first class training grounds and boarding facilities." Prices are published by the week: Puppy Training at $500.00 per week, HZP Training at $500.00 per week, VGP Training at $500.00 per week, and "Individual One on One Training – $400 per day (typically 7-8hrs.)."

The membership side
