About Koster K9
Koster K9 is a Tullahoma training and grooming business run by Ansley Perez. The home page sets out the range plainly: "Whether you have a puppy in need of obedience training, or a dog in need of problem behavior modification, at Koster K9, we are prepared to help you and your dog overcome these issues and create the best relationship possible."
Behavior work is the stated specialty
The emphasis is on difficult dogs rather than routine manners. The site states "We specialize in dogs with aggression, fear, anxiety, and reactivity." and is specific about what that covers: "If your dog is showing signs of aggression with other animals, same-sex aggression, or human aggression, we will deal with these issues professionally, while still teaching you how to deal with your dog at home."
The class ladder, and where it stops
Group classes run as a sequence: "Puppy : 12 weeks- 6 months", "Beginner : 6 months and older", "Intermediate : completion of a Puppy/Beginner course or over 6 months old and test out of the previous class", and "Advanced : completion of Intermediate or over 1-year-old and test out of the Intermediate class", with pack walks and titling on top – "CGC and Other Tests : Anyone is welcome to test for their titles". Courses are five weeks, proof of rabies, DAPP and bordetella vaccination is required, and "Classes must have at least 3 dogs enrolled to run." One honest caveat for anyone reading the class calendar: the dated class listings on the site are from 2022 to 2024, so call rather than assume a current schedule.
Sport and working dogs: a foundation only
The site is unusually candid about its limits, and the limit is worth quoting because it is the sort of thing a sport owner needs to know before calling. Specialized training is offered, but "while we do not finish sport/working dogs, we can give a solid foundation and thorough introduction".
Who runs it
The About page says "Ansley has been a professional dog trainer for over seven years and has worked with a wide variety of dogs." The interest in behavior cases is traced to her own dog, a Siberian Husky who struggled with reactivity, and she describes helping "many animal shelters and rescues working with reactive and aggressive dogs". Two demo dogs, a Lurcher and a Siberian Husky, are introduced by name and used in classes as neutral and distraction dogs. Grooming is a second, separate line of the business – "Our grooming services are designed to be a low stress environment for your dog or cat." – and the site records that she "started apprenticing under a groomer and earned her Fear-Free Groomer certification". That certificate is a grooming credential and is listed here as a claim, not as a training service.
