About Canine Corner

Canine Corner is a daycare, boarding, training and grooming facility on South Tryon Street in Charlotte, with three indoor and three outdoor yards and over 6,000 sq ft of indoor space. It is under new ownership, and the owner's own background is in training.

The training offer

Training is one of the four services in the business's own navigation. The published line is positive-reinforcement-based training designed to build trust, covering basic manners through to more advanced skills. Training also appears inside the daycare product: a Day School package adds foundational training to a day of play and enrichment for $20 on top of the standard daycare package, and a fully customized Day School training program is offered separately.

How a dog joins

Evaluation Day is a required first step for any daycare or boarding visit, at $25, and the site describes it as a five-hour minimum process rather than a quick introduction. Daycare itself runs $45 for a single session down to $32 a day on a fifty-day pass. The approach across the business is organized around five enrichment pillars – social, nutritional, occupational, sensory and physical.

A notable piece of honesty

The site states that its own trainers focus exclusively on positive reinforcement, that it does not incorporate aversive tools into its own programs, and – unusually – that the facility's former owner is a professional balanced trainer, so some returning clients may still use tools such as e-collars, which it respects as the owner's choice.

Who it’s best for

Best for a Charlotte owner who wants positive-reinforcement training folded into daycare days rather than booked as separate lessons.

Dog Training
Behavior modification for unwanted or problem habits.
