About Willow Pet Hotel

Willow Pet Hotel has been at 1926 Deer Park Ave since 1969 – its own site calls it 'Deer Park's Pet Hotel Since 1969' and notes it has been 'established and operating for over 50 years'. Most of the business is boarding, daycare and grooming, but it publishes a genuine training service under the heading 'Obedience and Behavior Training in Deer Park, NY', which is why it appears here rather than as a boarding-only listing.

The training program

The defining claim is that nothing is off the shelf: 'We do not offer one size fits all training packages. Instead, we partner with you to create a custom plan based on your dog.' The published range runs from house manners to real behavior work – 'Whether your pup is struggling with leash pulling, jumping, barking, anxiety, aggression, or simply needs help learning the basics, we will develop a strategy that works for your household.' Sessions are described as tailored to the individual dog's goals, 'from basic obedience to behavior modification', and the stated conviction is that 'no matter the breed, age, or background, we believe no dog is untrainable'.

Method

The method is stated as positive reinforcement, used to build 'a stress-free, encouraging environment where dogs can build confidence and trust'. The framing throughout is on communication between owner and dog rather than obedience for its own sake: the site argues that trained dogs are 'happier, more confident, and safer in every environment'.

The rest of the site

Boarding is described for pets 'including those with special needs', with doggy daycare and grooming alongside. The facility publishes its hours – closed Sundays – and a gallery, and reservations run through the site or by phone. For an owner already boarding a dog in Deer Park, the training is an add-on inside a place their dog already knows; for an owner starting from scratch, it is a facility-based option in a town that has several.
