About Fort Hyde Kennels Inc.

Fort Hyde Kennels is a full-service pet care facility on Ridge Road in Gasport, about eight miles northeast of Lockport, and it is the busiest business of any kind in this candidate set by review volume. It describes itself first as "an extraordinary boarding for dogs and cats", and the boarding, daycare and grooming side is clearly the larger half. The training side is not an afterthought, though: it is a named service with its own menu page.

Training

The obedience program is described as running "from basic commands to behavior modification", aimed at making a dog a well-mannered member of the family. Private lessons are offered separately and are described as tailored to a specific dog's needs.

Sport and enrichment

This is where the facility is unusual for a rural kennel. It runs agility courses, described as designed to work a dog's mind as well as its body; scent work; and dock diving for dogs that like water. It also hosts Yappy Hour social events, which the site frames as gatherings where dogs and owners both turn up.

Everything else

Boarding for stays of a day, a week or longer; daycare with supervised play; and grooming including baths, trims and nail-trim packages. The site publishes a pricing page and a facility and vaccination information page, which is more than most kennels this size put in writing.
