About Sit.Stay.Obey! Obdience & Behavioral Dog Training

What they do

Sit.Stay.Obey! publishes four programs by age and need: Basic Obedience from 8 weeks, Advanced Obedience from 6 months, Behavioral Solutions for all ages, and Board & Train for all ages. Training runs “in your home or the home of one of our expert trainers.” The business describes itself as “your premier full-service dog training company located in Buford, GA,” with services extending to Gwinnett County and surrounding areas.

Method

The method is stated in detail and without hedging. The company says it adheres to the standards set by the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers and commits to “the Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) dog training method,” which it defines as never resorting “to harsh tools such as shock/e-collars, prong collars, pinch collars, or slip collars, regardless of the issue.” In their place it relies on “Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), a scientifically-backed approach, to teach new skills and correct unwanted behaviors.”

How programs are built

The site states the methods have been developed over more than a decade, are tailored to the individual dog and the owner's goals, and explicitly reject a one-size-fits-all approach. Lead trainer R'Kenia Banks is named on the site, which lists a CPDT-KA certification. Published scope runs from refining sit and stay, through jumping on guests, to aggression.
