About Ducktown Dog Training, LLC

Ducktown Dog Training is a single-trainer business in Dawsonville. The founder and head trainer is named on the site as Sara, who describes seven years teaching basic obedience, preceded by nine years riding and training horses, helping her family breed Labrador Retrievers, and two years as a veterinary technician straight out of high school.

The board and train

This is the main program and the site publishes both the shape and the price: $2,000, with the dog living on the family property for two weeks on average, or until the dog is trained. The cap is the notable part. She takes two to six dogs at a time and says so explicitly, keeping the program small so each dog gets training, attention and play rather than kennel time.

What gets taught

The published focus list is concrete: heeling on leash, recall, name recognition, sit and down; not jumping on people or furniture; socialization with dogs and new people in any environment; and impulse control, covering wait-then-take, leave it, and holding focus around real-life distractions. A free phone consultation is the way in.

Note

Not to be confused with Ducktown Lodge & Dog Training in Cumming, which is a separate business with a different owner, domain and phone number.
