About pawsitive concepts

What they do

Pawsitive Concepts publishes three program tracks on its own site: companion dog, therapy dog and service dog. The service-dog track is the distinctive one and the site states plainly what it is for – training for owner-trained service dogs, so that clients can bypass the waiting list and cost of a pre-trained dog. That is a genuinely scarce offer in this metro and the reason this record matters out of proportion to its size.

The stated purpose

The business writes its purpose out in full: to provide affordable, ethical, effective and humane dog training services that treat every individual, human or canine, with dignity, respect, honesty and compassion. Its trainers work through positive reinforcement and clear communication, and every package is said to include ongoing support.

Who runs it

The site names Suzanne Veltrop, ACSDT, CPDT-KA as the trainer, and describes her as an advocate for ethical training who spent over a decade in the medical and legal fields before moving into dog work full time.

Where they work

The published service area is Festus, De Soto, Farmington, Potosi, Cedar Hill, Arnold, Pevely and Mehlville – a southern Jefferson County catchment rather than a St. Louis city one.

Credentials

Suzanne Veltrop is listed in the CCPDT register as CPDT-KA and in the AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator register, both in Pevely, the latter carrying this business's own domain.
