About PetImpact! Dog Training Services

What they do

PetImpact! offers private in-home and group dog training across the St. Louis area. Its own services page describes training "rooted in positive reinforcement and relationship-based methods", with a published program list that runs from puppy work through group classes, and a note that customized programs are built for specific training needs.

Puppy and Canine Good Citizen work

The puppy program is aimed at new owners who want structure and want to prevent behavior problems before they start, and the group classes include an American Kennel Club Puppy S.T.A.R. course. A separate program prepares dogs for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, covering skills such as sitting politely for greetings and loose-leash walking through a crowd.

Who runs it

The about page names Jennifer Maurer as founder and lead trainer, and sets out how she came to the work: she trained her own dog as a therapy dog and visited hospitals with her for over seven years, then moved into dog training full time more than eight years ago. She spent two years training under Kim Gracner of Positive Paws Pet Training, who is also listed in this directory.

Recognition

The home page records five consecutive years as a St. Louis Magazine A-List winner, 2022 through 2026.
