About Run By Dogs

Run By Dogs runs a training center in Sharon Springs and describes itself as a professional company serving people and their dogs. The published offer is family dog training, AKC certification and STAR Puppy certification, boarding, dog-sledding excursions and educational programs. The site says it welcomes all dogs to the training center, "from puppies to nervous, insecure and aggressive dogs who need extensive education", and that no breed and no behavior is turned away.

Method

The stated training goal is to teach behavior, energy, intention and leadership – how and when to praise, how and when to correct, and how to advocate for the dog so it can make good choices.

Setting

The training center is at the family property in Sharon Springs and runs by appointment only, with 24/7 monitoring for safety and security. The same property hosts the dog-sledding side of the business, which the site frames as promoting working dogs and human-dog cooperation rather than as a training service.
