About Wildrose Kennels
What they offer
Wildrose Kennels breeds and trains British and Irish Labradors, and its Mississippi facility sits on County Road 425 in Oxford. The home page lists three programs: the Gentleman's Gundog, trained for waterfowl and upland hunting; the Adventure Dog, which it says offers training in hiking, biking, camping, boating and kayaking, with all breeds welcome for certification; and Therapy Companions, dogs it describes as candidates for service, therapy, detection and alerting work.
How the training works
The home page calls its approach the Wildrose Way, a low-force, positive training method that it says is field-proven for upland and waterfowl gundogs. It also says Wildrose runs hands-on retriever training and handlers' workshops through the year at its regional facilities, with all breeds welcome.
Background
The Our Story page describes Wildrose as a breeding and training facility with full-service locations in several states, of which Oxford is the Mississippi one, and says it offers a full progression of training options. Much of the program centers on its own Labradors, so owners of other breeds should ask which workshops and programs are open to them.
