About Happy Hound Pet Services

Training in Rudy

Happy Hound Pet Services is a dog training business located in Rudy, offering in-person training there and welcoming clients from the Fort Smith–Van Buren area and beyond. Online training is also available. The business describes its approach as "scientific methods" that "facilitate communication between you and your canine companion," helping a dog understand the rules and follow them.

Programs by age and need

Programs are organized by life stage: puppies up to 6 months, puppies 6 to 18 months, and adult dogs 18 months and older. Happy Hound also offers behavior consultations for problem behavior, along with group classes and service dog training. It speaks to common frustrations such as a puppy that needs constant supervision, a dog that jumps on guests, pulls on the leash or won't come when called, and an adopted shelter dog whose honeymoon period is over.

Everyday manners

Happy Hound says it can teach dogs to sit politely to greet people, chew their own toys instead of the furniture, walk nicely on a leash, and stay calm in stressful or distracting environments.
