About Urban Dog Training

Urban Dog Training publishes a single-page site describing itself as a training course provider in Brooklyn, New York.

What is offered

The training is described as solving behavior and communication issues for dogs, with aggression toward people or other animals named specifically. The obedience goals are the everyday ones: a dog that walks on the lead without tugging, and that sits or stays on command.

How the trainer describes the approach

The stated strength is simplification – taking pains to simplify subjects and having a reputation for making difficult concepts or tasks easier – and the site says clients have seen progress in their own skills and knowledge over a short period. Individual needs are considered on the basis that clients arrive from different backgrounds, environments and abilities. Notably, the emphasis throughout is on what the owner learns rather than what the dog is put through, which is consistent with the way most successful in-home training in the borough works.

What to ask

Contact is by a form or a phone call, and the business gives its location as Brooklyn, New York. An owner comparing this practice with the certification-forward trainers elsewhere in Brooklyn should ask about the trainer's name, credentials, method, prices, address and service area directly before booking.
