Science-based training in Des Moines

Knox Canine Training is based at 1631 NE 58th Ave in Des Moines and specializes in modern, science-based training methods designed to treat behavior and aggression problems in dogs of all ages and sizes. All services are available through group classes or private and semi-private training.

Group classes

Puppy and obedience classes meet once a week in small groups at the Des Moines facility. Puppy Basics is for dogs 2-9 months and covers confidence building, core obedience, target training, leash skills and handling. The Obedience Class for dogs 9 months and older covers hand and verbal cues, loose leash walking, recall, place and impulse control. Specialty classes include AKC Novice Trick, AKC Canine Good Citizen, Introduction to Scent Work, Barkers Anonymous and Obedience 2.

Private training and online courses

Private sessions happen in the home, at the facility or anywhere in public within greater Des Moines, and cover puppy needs, basic obedience, behavior modification and reactivity. Self-guided online courses teach the Knox Canine Training methods at home, and phone sessions are available.
