About Scott County Kennel Club
An all-breed club in Davenport
Scott County Kennel Club is an all-breed kennel club with a climate-controlled clubhouse at 2002 W River Dr in Davenport, Iowa, 14 blocks west of the Centennial Bridge. It describes itself as serving the Illinois and Iowa Quad Cities community since 1943 with quality canine instruction in all aspects of competitive and companion training.
Classes
The club offers classes for all skill levels, from performance sports such as agility, obedience and rally, to instinct training such as herding and scent work, to conformation presentation, plus puppy training and socialization and pet training classes. All classes are pre-registered online, and a training coordinator helps owners pick the right class. Agility, scent work and some higher-level obedience classes are for club members, and owners who complete two classes can apply for membership through a wait list.
Events
The club hosts competitive and fun dog events in the Quad Cities area, including AKC agility and scent work trials, and its mission includes education on canine health, training, breeding, care and legislation. It also offers a breeder referral.
What to ask
Ask the training coordinator about class fees, upcoming session dates and which class fits your dog.
